In Mark 16:15, Jesus says ‘Go into all the world and preach the gospel to every creature’.
God uses flawed and broken people, like you and me, to share his great message. I love 2 Corinthians 4, where it says that we are jars of clay. We are broken and cracked people who have Christ inside. When we live our life in obedience and share with others about Jesus, the light that is inside shines through our imperfections and reveals the glory of Christ.
We all have a story to tell. Just like the countless others in Scripture. Like the blind man (in John 9) that Jesus gave site to. The people couldn’t shut him up! Also, the Woman at the well in John 7 told many people about Christ. These people had a story to tell…and so do you.
Are you scared? If you are nervous about sharing your story, know that you are not the only one. It takes faith and courage to step out and be vulnerable sharing something personal. In Acts 1:8, the Bible says, “You will receive power to be my witnesses…” The power that is referred to here is the work of the Holy Spirit in you. God promises to be with you! This is an absolutely amazing truth! Just be reminded that the God who created the universe and all matter in it is the same God who will be with you when you share Christ with someone. It is a guarantee that cannot be broken!
Jesus tells us that we must not be ashamed of him on earth. If we understand and live by God’s words, then we will come to the realization that God is worthy of our lives and that God desires us to tell others about Him. Remember that God says that we are not responsible for people’s salvation, but that we are responsible for sharing. It is the work of God through the Holy Spirit to save. God merely asks for obedience on our part.
From your birth to your re-birth (initial salvation experience) you had a story. From your re-birth to now, you have a story of transformation from the old to the new. We believe that your story of change is the way that people will see the realness and relevance of Jesus Christ in your life. We also believe that with your words and the Holy Spirit’s leading and drawing, people will be saved through this ministry.
We want to encourage you to become a follower of Christ who isn’t ashamed of the greatest gift that you have or will ever receive. Ask Me My Story was God’s vision birthed out of a desire to share, in a practical way; the transformation that has occurred in our lives through God’s transforming power. True followers have a story of how Christ has changed them and the world needs to hear it.
